OuiBake became my inspiration name for a bakery in 2012, when I decided to create baklava and cakes from home through the cottage industry. I had started baking as a young girl, encouraged by my grandmother’s descriptions of her own mother’s baked goods, and I loved everything about the process. Buttercream cakes became a staple for every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion for my own family of five children. When they grew up, moved away, and then came home to visit, my children often requested my buttercream cake. To them, it represented "home."

 

I began baking and decorating cookies about 7 years ago, and this has now become a large part of OuiBake sales. Designer cookies appeal to children more than cakes do, and often birthday parties feature OuiBake cookies that are tailored to the theme of the party. It gives me tremendous pleasure to read a text from a mom who tells me afterward how much her child loved the cookies!
